Sign Language Interpreters & Captionists

CART – Computer Assisted Real Time Captioning

Deaf or Hard of Hearing students connected with Disability Services can request captioning services. CART – Computer Assisted Real Time Captioning system provides a text display message of the words spoken by both the instructor and students of the room. Students can follow along in the classroom using a laptop or mobile device allowing them access from anywhere in the room.  A transcript is emailed to the student within 24 hours of the class.

ASL Interpreting

Deaf or Hard of Hearing students connected with Disability Services can request interpreting services. Sign language interpreters at Georgia Tech are skilled professional interpreters placed in the classroom to promote effective cross-cultural communication in every field of study.

University students connected with Disability Services can request interpreters or captionists for a class, academic meeting, or activity. Requests should be made as early as possible but must be made at least five (5) days prior to the actual activity.
