Transportation Services

Georgia Tech students with a qualifying disability which requires transportation as a reasonable accommodation or students who have a temporary disability due to an unexpected injury may utilize the alternate transportation service on an ongoing or limited time. Please keep in mind that this is subject to availability of the appropriate transportation.

All employees and students in need of parking accommodations must obtain a state issued disability permit. Disability Services does not handle parking requests. State issued permits are also valid in visitor lots. All employees and students are required to purchase a campus permit for the area in which they will be parking and pay the associated fees according to the particular lot fee schedule. The state issued disability permit and the campus permit must be displayed together at all times while parking on the Tech campus. Both of these permits must be renewed annually by following parking procedures. 

Alternate Transportation Usage Policy and Procedures

Students approved for transportation accommodations are eligible to use the Stingerette Service from 7:30am-6:00pm. Beginning at 6:00pm, the services is available to all Georgia Tech students. The shuttle services academic buildings and facilities within campus boundaries, Georgia Tech-operated living accommodations, and the MARTA Midtown Station. The shuttle will access the closest possible pick up and drop off points for each destination.

1.  To Establish Stingerette Service

A student must submit the appropriate application and documentation of the Office of Disability Services and complete the registration process (see instructions under the tab "Get Connected".)
Upon approval of this accommodation, the student will receive an email from Disability Services notifying Parking and Transportation that you've been approved for the service. The email will also contain directions for setting up your schedule through Parking and Transportation.

Students registered on an on-going basis will receive a new schedule form via email at the beginning of each semester.
Once a schedule is submitted, it can take up to two (2) business days to establish service.
Schedules are determined at the beginning of the term and those schedules take priority over additional requests for Stingerette service.
Students must submit a new schedule for the upcoming week every Sunday by 9:00pm to Kendra Parker Chaney at

2.  Changing or Canceling Service

To make a change to the transportation schedule, students must obtain approval two (2) business days in advance. Students should send an email to Kendra Parker Chaney at and The subject line should read: "Request to make a change to Stingerette Schedule".

For temporary usage, Stingerette Service will discontinue at the end of the pre-determined timeframe unless the student follow steps to extend the service.
Students must contact Kendra Parker Chaney to cancel Stingerette Service at least 24 hours in advance of established pick-up time.

3.  Request an Extension of Service for Students with Temporary Disabilities

Students must submit a request to continue service at least two (2) business days prior to the scheduled end of service. Students will be notified of their scheduled end-date when they complete the temporary registration process with Disability Services.
Students should contact Disability Services directly at or 404-894-2563 to request an extension. Additional documentation may be required to approve the extension.

4.  Extra-Curricular Activities

Students who use the Stingerette Service on an ongoing basis may schedule service beyond the normal service hours of 7:30am to 6:00pm.
The schedule transportation for extra-curricular activities, students must email Kendra Parker Chaney at least two (2) business days in advance.

5.  Authorized Riders

Only students who are approved for services will be allowed to use the Stingerette during the hours of 7:30am-6:00pm.
Friends, family, and guests are not authorized to ride Stingerette with the approved student.
Personal Care Attendants must be approved by the Office of Disability Services and Parking/Transportation in advance.
