Georgia Tech has been selected by the Neilsen Foundation to provide significant scholarships for undergraduate or graduate students with spinal cord injuries. The scholarship provides 100% tuition paid for in-state students and 125% of in-state tuition cost for out-of-state students.

The eligibility requirements are:
  • Undergraduate or graduate students (enrolled online or on campus) who have experienced neurological and functional impairment due to a traumatic spinal cord injury, a degenerative disease primary to the spinal cord, or damage to the spinal cord due to tumors or surgery
  • Must be degree-seeking, be in and maintain academic good standing at the Institute
  • Only individuals with neurological and functional impairment due to traumatic SCI, degenerative disease primary to the spinal cord (i.e., transverse myelitis), or damage to the spinal cord due to tumors and surgery are eligible for support through this program
  • Individuals with spinal dysfunction, paralysis, or pain syndromes caused by other traumatic or primary orthopedic, genetic or developmental disorders are not eligible (e.g., multiple sclerosis, ALS, Chiari malformation or peripheral nerve injury).

Applications for the June 2023 grant term is now open. Please submit your application by March 24, 2023.
