Priority Registration is an accommodation granted to some students registered with the Office of Disability Services at Georgia Tech to assist with scheduling concerns. There are certain situations where priority registration would be a reasonable accommodation. They are as follows:
- Individuals with a mobility disability which impacts the time of class attendance.
- Students with chronic or ongoing conditions who need to schedule classes around medication management.
- Students undergoing medical treatments (e.g., chemotherapy, dialysis, transfusions) which preclude class attendance during certain days or times.
Priority registration as an accommodation is granted based on the documentation provided and the interactive process during the intake appointment or subsequent follow-up appointments. Please note that the list of students with this accommodation is sent to the registrar’s office up to a week before registration time tickets are disbursed. We are unable to add students to this list after the final list is sent to the registrar’s office. There are no exceptions.
To request adding priority registration after your initial intake appointment, please send a written statement including the reason for your request to your disability coordinator via email.
Student Responsibilities

- Meet with your academic advisor for academic advisement prior to the registration date.

ODS Responsibilities
- Retrieve the date of priority registration from the Registrar’s office.
- Inform the students of the date and time of priority registration.
Personal conflicts, work conflicts, personal preferences and concerns without a disability diagnosis and supporting documentation are not acceptable criteria for approval for priority registration and will not be considered when establishing a student’s eligibility for this accommodation.
